The YOU MATTER Campaigns are all about celebrating every person's value and worth!  This includes our students, our teachers, and families in our community. The goal of the YWC is to help students remember that their life matters, that we care about them and that there are resources available on campus and in our community that can help.

AWARENESS CREATES CHANGE

The YWC is committed to raising awareness, promoting wellness and reducing stigma around mental health.

Parents, teachers, students, and community... let's take the first step by learning the signs of emotional distress so that we can reach out when someone is struggling.

We create change when we learn the facts rather than making assumptions. One in four has a mental illness.  Mental illness is a disorder that disrupts a person’s thinking, feelings, mood, ability to relate to others, and daily functioning. Mental health disorders are not the result of personal weakness, poor upbringing, or lack of character.  -NAMI

Let's create change by showing compassion. How do you respond when you hear a friend has just broken their arm? Or learned that they have cancer? Now think about how you would respond if someone told you they were bipolar? Or that they suffered from depression?
